SGAC or MDAC Mistake: Officially Verified Correction Steps

A typo in a passport number, a changed flight, or an incorrect arrival date should be handled through the official arrival-card system. Singapore publishes a clear update and resubmission rule for the SG Arrival Card. Malaysia's public MDAC pages provide registration and record-checking tools, but they do not publish the same correction or duplicate-submission rule.

TL;DR: For Singapore SGAC, use Update a Submission while the record is still valid. ICA also states that if you submit a new SGAC with updated information, the new declaration supersedes the earlier one. For Malaysia MDAC, first retrieve the submitted record through Check Registration using your passport number, nationality, and PIN. The current official public pages do not state that an MDAC can be edited, that a new registration automatically replaces an earlier one, or that immigration will simply use the latest duplicate. Direct Answer: SGAC vs MDAC Correction

Do not transfer Singapore's published SGAC behavior to Malaysia's MDAC system. The two portals do not document corrections in the same way.

Singapore SGAC: Update While the Record Is Valid

Singapore ICA says travelers can update arrival information in the SG Arrival Card e-Service through Update a Submission, provided the record has not expired. In the MyICA Mobile app, an unexpired trip record can be opened and edited before it is submitted again.

ICA defines the expiry point precisely: an SGAC for a trip expires after the stated arrival date or after the traveler has made the trip, whichever is earlier. A traveler who needs to amend an active record should therefore:

1. Open the official SG Arrival Card e-Service or MyICA Mobile app.
2. Select Update a Submission, or open the trip record and choose Edit in MyICA Mobile.
3. Amend the fields the official interface makes available.
4. Submit the changes.
5. Download the updated PDF from the e-Service, or review the updated record in the app.

ICA separately states that if a traveler submits a new SGAC with updated information, the earlier declaration does not need to be cancelled and will be superseded by the new declaration. For a cancelled trip, however, ICA says the old submission does not need to be withdrawn; a new SGAC is required for a future trip.

SGAC must be submitted within three days before arrival, including the day of arrival. Submission through ICA's official e-Service or MyICA Mobile app is free. ICA says it does not support or endorse commercial entities that charge to assist with SGAC submission, and those services are not affiliated with ICA.

Malaysia MDAC: Check the Record Before Taking Further Action

The current Malaysian Immigration Department MDAC portal exposes these public functions:

• Registration for a trip within three days, including the submission date.
• Check Registration, which requests the passport number, nationality or citizenship, and PIN.
• Forgot PIN, which lets the traveler request a replacement PIN through the official system.
• A contact link for MDAC application inquiries.

The public portal pages checked for this article do not display an edit button or publish a rule saying that a second MDAC automatically replaces an earlier registration. They also do not state that an immigration counter or e-gate will select the latest duplicate. Therefore, do not present those behaviors as official facts.

If an MDAC may contain an error:

1. Open Check Registration on the official MDAC portal.
2. Enter the passport number, nationality, and PIN from the registration email. Use Forgot PIN if necessary.
3. Compare the retrieved record with the passport and current trip details.
4. If a passport, identity, or travel field is materially wrong, use the inquiry channel linked under Contact Us on the official MDAC portal and ask whether the department wants a new registration or another correction procedure.
5. Keep the retrieved registration PDF or screenshot available, together with any official response you receive.

This advice is intentionally narrower than unofficial travel-site guidance. A second registration may be suggested by third parties, but the Malaysian Immigration Department pages reviewed here do not publish how duplicate MDAC records are prioritized.

Details to Check Before Submission

Compare these fields with the passport and current booking before pressing submit:

• Passport number, nationality, and passport expiry date.
• Full name, date of birth, and sex as shown in the travel document.
• Arrival and departure dates.
• Flight, vessel, or transportation number and mode of travel.
• Last port of embarkation and entry details requested by the form.
• Accommodation type, Malaysian address, state, postcode, and city.
• Email address and mobile number used to receive or recover the confirmation.

If a flight changes after submission, follow the correction method documented by that country's official system. Do not assume that an airline update automatically changes an arrival-card record.
