Bali Tourist Levy: How to Pay, Official Website, and Exemptions

The Bali Tourist Levy is a provincial charge for foreign tourists visiting Bali. This guide explains who must pay, the fee and exemptions, and how to use the official Love Bali system to pay and obtain the QR-code voucher.

Who Pays and How Much

The official Love Bali FAQ says foreign tourists who travel to Bali for tourism are subject to the levy. The fee is IDR 150,000 per person and is paid once during that Bali trip, before leaving Indonesia.

Use lovebali.baliprov.go.id. Do not pay through a page merely because it uses Bali photos or copies the levy name.

Prepare the Payment Details

Before starting, have these details ready:

name exactly as shown on the passport;
passport number;
nationality;
an active email address; and
planned arrival date in Bali.

The voucher is sent to the registered email address. A typo can make the voucher harder to retrieve, so check the address before paying.

How to Pay Online

Open the official Love Bali website and choose the tourist levy payment option.
Enter the traveler and arrival details exactly as requested.
Review the name, passport number, nationality, email, and arrival date.
Select one of the payment methods currently offered and complete the cashless payment.
Save the levy voucher and QR code delivered by email.

The official FAQ lists Visa, Mastercard, American Express, JCB, bank transfer, Virtual Account, UnionPay, and QRIS. Availability can depend on the payment page and your bank, so use the options actually displayed during checkout. The levy remains IDR 150,000, but the issuing bank may add a separate charge.

When to Pay

Love Bali strongly encourages online payment before departure for Bali. If you have not paid in advance, the official FAQ says cashless payment is also available at designated airport or seaport counters in Bali and through registered payment points such as participating hotels, travel agents, or tourist attractions.

Do not rely on cash. Keep the voucher available offline so it can be shown or scanned when requested.

Check Whether an Exemption Applies

The official FAQ lists exemptions for holders of diplomatic or official visas, transport crew, KITAS or KITAP, family-unification visas, student visas, Golden Visas, and certain other visa categories.

Golden Visa holders and people applying under the “other visas” category must request an exemption through the Love Bali system at least five days before entering Bali. The Bali regulation says the province approves or rejects the request within three days after receiving it. The other listed categories show their supporting card or document to the officer and do not use this application step. Check the current Love Bali exemption instructions before traveling because the required proof depends on the category.

If the Voucher Is Missing

Check the inbox and spam folder for the email entered during payment. If the voucher email is missing, use Resend Voucher with the invoice number from the payment receipt, passport number, and email address. Use Verify Voucher with the levy voucher number and passport number to check an existing voucher. Do not pay a second time immediately.
