Most Indonesia e-VOA mistakes are expensive because they are discovered after payment. Before you pay, compare every field against your passport and travel booking. The official Indonesia eVisa information says visa data must match the passport, and information cannot be changed once the Visitor Visa is processed.
TL;DR: Before payment, check passport number, name spelling, nationality, date of birth, passport expiry date, arrival point, arrival date, and email. If core passport data is wrong, do not assume you can fix it later. Stop and correct the form before paying.
Quick Check
| Field | What to compare | Why it matters |
|---|---|---|
| Passport number | Every letter and digit on the biodata page | A wrong number can make the visa unusable |
| Full name | Name order and spelling exactly as printed | Name mismatch can cause boarding or border problems |
| Nationality | Passport country, not residence country | Wrong nationality can affect eligibility and fee flow |
| Date of birth | Day, month, and year format | Date-format mistakes are easy on mobile |
| Passport expiry | Expiry date and remaining validity | Indonesia requires a valid passport for entry |
| Arrival point | Airport or port you will actually use | Entry details should match the trip |
| Inbox you can access during travel | Approval and account messages may go there |
Mistakes to Fix Before Payment
Passport number
Check lookalike characters carefully: 0 and O, 1 and I, 5 and S. Use the passport biodata page, not a travel agent note or airline profile, as the source.
Name order
Enter the name as the official form requests it, using your passport spelling. Do not translate your name, add nicknames, or swap family and given names based on how your airline account displays them.
If your passport has a machine-readable zone, use it as a second check for surname and given-name order.
Nationality and passport country
Nationality should follow the passport used for travel. Residence, work permit country, or departure country is not the same thing.
Dates
Date mistakes often happen when a page expects day-month-year but the traveler types month-day-year. Check date of birth, passport expiry, planned arrival, and planned departure before moving to payment.
Arrival point and travel details
Use the airport or entry point you plan to use. If your trip changes before submission, update the form before paying. Do not rely on a later correction unless the official portal clearly allows it.
Email address
Use an email account you can access immediately. A wrong email can make it harder to find payment messages, application status, or the visa document.
If You Already Paid
If you notice the mistake after payment, log in to the official portal and check the current application status. Do not create duplicate applications or pay again without checking the official instructions first.
For payment problems or a stuck request, see the separate Indonesia e-VOA payment troubleshooting guide.
Indonesian Immigration has warned that incorrect core information such as name, nationality, or passport number can require a new electronic visa application. The official eVisa information also says processed Visitor Visa information cannot be changed.
Where eVisaFlow Helps
If you often fill Indonesia eVisa forms for several travelers, eVisaFlow Southeast Asia can autofill saved passport, trip, accommodation, and contact information on the Indonesia eVisa official website, reducing name, passport number, or date mistakes before payment.
